The saints at Upper Hill Street, Coventry, had an exercise to reach the northern part of the county from Coleshill across to Nuneaton. They arranged for 20,000 texts of their own, and we supported with maps and bags. The distribution was held over two Saturdays with a few individuals finishing off parts of Nuneaton in the days following.
FIrst was Coleshill, Water Orton and Shustoke on the 9th May. There was good support from across the Midlands, and the area was covered in the day with 5000 texts and invites (2 weeks of Gospel meetings to be held in Coleshill Hotel) given out. The only hitch on the day was Andy’s car breaking down – starting motor went.
We were encouraged by a number of believers as we distributed, especially in Water Orton. There is an evangelical Church of England there, and one brother, John, who attended the meetings at Shard End earlier in the year, came to Coleshill as well and brought quite a number of unsaved friends and contacts with him. Angel and Queenie were also back in. Joe, came on the last night having received the text and then met brother Richard outside the hotel. He had been seeking and attending an Alpha Course at the Coleshill CofE. (We are delighted to note that Joe has since been attending ministry meetings in various assemblies across the area, brought by Richard, and will be baptised by immersion on 1st Nov by the Coleshill CofE)
Following the two weeks of meetings in Coleshill, a further distribution happened across the rest of North Warwickshire on 30th May. This covered a wide area, and needed some folks to continue the distribution into the following week. All told, a further 15,000 texts and invites were given out, with 2 further weeks of meetings planned, one week in the village of Fillongley, and the other in Nuneaton.
