Wimborne, Dorset

By mid-June, an unusually hot spell had settled over England, so we are extremely grateful to the few who joined us for the weekend in the historic town of Wimborne Minster. The saints at Emmanuel Gospel Hall had planned a follow-up week of meetings in the town centre Costa Coffee, had 15,000 John 3:16 Seed Sower texts and invites packed for distribution across the town and several neighbouring towns, and prepared wonderful fare.

With the heat and the smaller number of participants, it was a great effort to get a total of 10,000 packs distributed. The majority were distributed over the weekend of 20-21 June, where we also enjoyed wonderful fellowship with local believers and were spiritually refreshed through the ministry of brother Simon Hall.

We were encouraged by a number of contacts made through Bible requests. Pray for these people, especially a teenage girl who requested a Bible to help her with her RE studies.

Some distribution continued early in the mornings through the week, and due to the heat, a good hat was needed. Later, time was spent tracting in the town square an hour before the meetings. While only a few came in, the meetings were an encouragement.

Pray for L, who came a number of the evenings and showed particular interest. She has a lot going on in her life, but evidently very thoughtful. She took a Lee Stroebel book on the resurrection after the meeting one night. Pray she will continue to show interest, the seed would not be smothered by the cares of life, and that the Lord will bless her with salvation.
